Ranges shown for US East Coast delivery and include export packing, ocean freight, US customs clearance, US port charges, and door delivery. Texas and Gulf Coast: comparable, served by direct sailings to Houston. West Coast: add roughly 15 to 20%. Moving inland? Your guaranteed quote covers door delivery anywhere in the lower 48, including trucking from the port. You are quoted and invoiced in USD.
Depends on your inventory size, origin country, and US destination. A 1-bedroom typically runs $4,000 to $7,000 by sea to the East Coast; larger homes and West Coast delivery cost more. We quote from your itemized inventory and guarantee the price in writing, with US customs clearance and delivery included.
Sea freight typically takes 2 to 5 weeks to the East Coast depending on origin, plus packing and customs time. Texas and the Gulf Coast are on direct sailings to Houston. West Coast delivery adds roughly 2 to 3 weeks via the Panama Canal. Air freight delivers in 1 to 2 weeks.
In most cases, no. Household goods you have owned and used for at least one year enter the US duty free, whether you are an American moving home or a European emigrating. We prepare and file your CBP Form 3299 declaration and detailed inventory. Items owned less than a year may be dutiable.
No. We clear your shipment for you. US customs will not notify you when your container arrives, and uncleared shipments start accruing storage and can be moved to a bonded warehouse after 15 days. We track your container and clear it on arrival, and our inventories are written to avoid the vague descriptions that trigger physical inspections.
The origin quote often looks cheaper because it stops at the US port. Terminal handling, customs brokerage, and delivery are then billed by a US agent after your container lands, and those charges commonly add $1,500 to $3,000. Our guaranteed price includes the American side, so the comparison is only fair when you add those in.
Restrictions include plants and soil, certain foods and meats, weapons without permits, and alcohol beyond limited quantities. Personal medication in normal quantities is fine with prescriptions. Your coordinator reviews your inventory line by line before packing.
Usually not, if it’s a modern European-spec vehicle. Cars built for the European market generally can’t be registered in the US without expensive federal conversion. The exception is classics: vehicles 25 years or older are exempt from US safety and emissions conformity and ship straightforwardly. Your coordinator can tell you in one call which side of the line your car falls on.
